Get to know our new general manager: Kristin Sætevik Garborg

Assessit has appointed a new managing director.
We had a chat with Kristin about what motivates her, what she brings into the role, and how she views the path forward for Assessit.
"I am committed to clear direction, high ambitions, and structures that actually help people succeed in their daily lives."
What made you accept the role?
The short answer is the people, the expertise, and the level of ambition. I quickly realized that Assessit is an environment with highly skilled professionals, high integrity, and a clear desire to create value for our clients. At the same time, the company is in the midst of a strategic crossroads that I recognize very well.
I have always made value-based choices when choosing my roles.
What is important to me is that I feel at home in the culture, that I am engaged by the mission the company is set to deliver on, that I can learn something new, and at the same time feel that I can contribute something to help lift it.
What strengths and experiences do you bring with you into Assessit?
I come in with experience in leading at the intersection of business, people, and culture, both in growth phases and in more demanding restructuring periods. For me, a clear direction, high ambitions, and structures that actually help people succeed in their daily lives are important. At the same time, I strongly believe in value-based leadership and psychological safety as a prerequisite for quality and performance.
My role is not to be the smartest professional in the room, but to facilitate so that the expertise in Assessit gets full impact, both internally and externally.
What will our clients notice most about you starting?
Clients will notice greater clarity. In how we position ourselves, how we frame our assignments, and how we combine expertise, insight, and business understanding in our deliveries.
Assessit will be a consultancy that both challenges and supports, with clear perspectives on leadership, organization, and collaboration, whether the client needs new key personnel or they wish to develop leaders and the organization.

Finally, what are you looking forward to the most?
I am looking forward most of all to building further on what is already strong, together with the people at Assessit. To further developing the company as a modern, professionally strong, and relevant consultancy for the leaders of the future.
And not least to working closely with our clients on some of the most exciting and complex leadership and organizational challenges we are facing right now.
